Steven J. Stokke, 57, died on Friday, January 17, 2003 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, January 20, at the Johnson Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Steven James Stokke was born on October 10, 1945 in Thief River Falls, MN to Alfred and Agnes (Hastad) Stokke. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls and attended school in Thief River Falls graduating from Lincoln High School in 1963. He attended the AVTI in Thief River Falls receiving an Accounting Degree. He served his country in the Army from 1962 until 1967. He also served in the Army National Guard completing a six-year term. Steve worked at the Robson Honey Farm before beginning his career in banking in 1964 at the Northern State Bank in Thief River Falls. He was united in marriage to Diane Robson on June 10, 1972 in Thief River Falls. To this union two children were born: Wendy and Nicholas. Steve became a Vice President at the bank in 1972 and still holds that position.

Steven enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, flower gardening, water color painting. He was an avid sports booster and a member of the blue line club, the Eagles Club and coached youth hockey with TRFAHA. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with the grandchildren. He was also a member of the American Legion in Thief River Falls.

Steven is survived by one daughter Wendy (Mark) Daniels, St. Cloud, MN, one son Nicholas (Felicia) Stokke, Thief River Falls, MN, 3 grandchildren: Philip and Tate Daniels, Walker Stokke, 9 brothers and sisters: Paul (Drora), Copperas Cove, TX; Richard (Phyllis), Eden Prairie, MN; Theodore (Beverly), Marquette, MI; Rosemary (Gordon) Bond, St. Cloud, MN; Margaret Stokke, Thief River Falls, MN; Roberta (Kenneth) Kelly, Grand Rapids, MN; John Stokke, of Gaithersburg, MD, Edward (Patricia), Woodbridge, WV; and David (Carol) Stokke, Chenoa, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survived him.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents and one brother William.
