Gertrude H. Nevin, 82, Almena, Wis., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Pioneer Nursing Home, Prairie Farm.

She was born June 28, 1926, at Milwaukee to Rudolph and Emma (Hahn) Timmler. Gertrude married Harold Nevin at Center City, Minn., on June 24, 1946. They moved to Almena in 1947 and farmed in the area. She worked as a nurse's aid and at 3M for 15 years.

Surviving in addition to her husband of Almena are sons, Harold (Anita), Ronald (Bridget), both of Grantsburg, and David of Balsam Lake; daughters, Jacqueline Pauley of Rice Lake and Geraldine (Frank) Stauber of River Falls; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Anita Giefen and Dorothy Timmler, both of Waukesha.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, from St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Almena, with Rev. David Emmons officiating. Burial of cremains followed at Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Nevin, Jessie Buzek, Angela Nevin, Colin Nevin, Amanda Monson and Jacob Stauber.

Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland, handled arrangements.
