Mr. Kaufman, 79, of Box 201, Duncansville RD 1, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 1985, in his home, after an extended illness. Mr. Kaufman retired as a blacksmith from the Penn Central in 1971, after 44 years service. He was born May 13, 1906, in Duncansville, the son of David W. and Anna M. (Plowman) Kaufman, and Dec. 31, 1928, in Cross Keys, married Elvaline Brubaker, who died Feb. 10, 1981. Surviving are four children: Shirley Zeek, Mearle, Kenneth and Mary Jane of Duncansville; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers: Bernard of Mansfield, Ohio, and Arthur of Louisville, Ky. Mr. Kaufman was a member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, Men's Bible class and Allegheny Township Senior Citizens. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Donald E. Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville, and noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. Services by Rev. Carmon Sollenberger. Interment in Carson Valley Cemetery.
