Cloyd Averill died Dec. 27 at Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day. He was 77.
A private funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Willamette Memorial Park, Albany.
Mr. Averill was born March 3, 1927, in Osakis, Minn.
He married Wilma Sapp in 1947 and moved to Mt. Vernon in 1999.
He served in the Army Medical Corps in Seoul, Korea, and worked at Stone Forest Industries until he retired in 1992, after 32 years. Hobbies included fishing, hunting, hiking in the mountains and outdoor activities.
Mr. Averill was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by three daughters, Teresa Harris of Mt. Vernon, Audrey Bradley of Albany and Janice Holt of Albany, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
