Nancy was a daughter and eldest child of Bartlett Asher Sr. (1763-1841) and Margaret Curry (17__-1845). She married Peter Hays in Jefferson Co., KY, June 6, 1822. They had two known sons, Allen and George W.
Peter and Nancy followed her parents to Owen Co., IN, in the 1820s where they continued to live until moving to Hancock Co., IL, in the 1850s, then to Lewis Co., MO, about a decade later where Peter died, Sept. 2, 1876. His burial location has not yet been discovered.
Nancy moved to Kansas with family members where she was recorded in Pleasant Dale Twp., Rush Co., in 1880 but also lived with family in Barton County.
