Funeral services for Roy Spann were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Rock Springs. Interment was in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Spann, 77, 1462 Sublette St., Rock Springs, died at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.
He was born on March 8, 1924, in Monticello, Ky., the son of Ephrium Morgan and Nancy Elizabeth Lair.
He married the former Lilly Mae Jensen in Pinedale on June 1, 1947, and she preceded him in death on July 15, 1990.
He was employed by Mountain Fuel Supply Company for 35 years and retired as a pipeline superintendent in 1982.
Spann was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Calvin Spann and wife Ellen of Rock Springs and Kenneth Spann and wife Tammy of Rock Springs; a special friend, Gigi Hamstra of Rock Springs; two brothers, Thomas Spann of Rock Springs and Rufus Spann and wife Bertha of Lyman; one sister, Violet Lowe of Springfield, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Edna Giorgis of Rock Springs; six grandchildren, Richard and Angie Spann, Melinda and Jason Mitchell, Michael Spann, Jesse Spann, Jared Spann and Bryan Spann; three great-grandchildren Nicholas Spann and Jessie and Griffin Mitchell; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers; and three sisters.
