Funeral services for Mrs. Emma McAnninch were held Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. E. W. F. Holler and Rev. Paul Figge in charge. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Frank Talbott, Roy Read, Perry Willet, Harry Bickford, Ernest Andes and Cliff Williamson. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Ed Burk, Mrs. Jay Manett and Mrs. Gertrude Billick.
Emma Rosetta McAninch, daughter of John S. and Mary F. Capehart, was born at Montezuma, Ia, Nov. 9, 1865, and died Feb. 9.1948, in Rock Island, Ill., in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. And Mrs. Felix McGee. At the age of four she and her parents moved to Brooklyn, Ia., where she had since made her home. Mrs. McAninch received her education in the early schools of Brooklyn. She married David F. McAninch, Dec. 25, 1883. Three children were born to the couple: Mrs. Felix McGee of Rock Island, Ill., Dr. John E. McAninch of Newton, and Dr. Cecil S. McAninch, the latter who died April 23, 1938. Mr. McAninch preceded his wife in death …in Brooklyn, April 26, 1928. Mrs. McAninch was an active member of the Royal Neighbors, the W.R.C. and Rebekah Lodge.
