Blacksburg -- David William "Cooter" Carroll, 52, of 594 West Carolina Street, Lot 6, passed away Sunday January 11, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
Born in Gastonia, Mr. Carroll was the husband of Leslie Nichols Carroll of the home and the son of the late Love Elbert Carroll and the late Lily Mauney Carroll. He worked as a truck driver and attended the Rapture Ready Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Carroll is survived by two daughters, Tasha Seagle of the home and Elizabeth Rowland of York; a step-son, Timmy Ray of Clover; 8 brothers, Robert Mote, Kenneth Mote, Larry Mote, Roger Mote, and Tony Mote, all of Rock Hill, Jimmy Keener of Smyrna, Lawrence Keener of Blacksburg, and Clarence Keener of Kannapolis; 2 sisters, Mary Ann Mote of Rock Hill and Betty Melton of Gaffney, and 3 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Marie Carroll, a step-daughter, Wendy Lynn Ray, and two brothers, Vester Keener and Eddie Mote.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Rapture Ready Church, with Rev. Bill Harris officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
