Funeral services for Lee McCowan were held Saturday at the Freewill Baptist Church in Monterey. Rev James O McCowan officiated. Burial was in Welch Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. McCowan died unexpectedly Jan 29 at his home in Dunkirk, Ind.
He was a retired employee of the Indiana Glass Co in Dunkirk. A native of Putnam County, he had called Dunkirk home for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ina McCowan; sons Willie, Monterey; Jerry, Arthur, Benton and Melvin of Dunkirk; Elvis of Red Key, Ind.; daughters Mrs. Callie Ray Davis, Mrs. Ollie Harrison, and Mrs. Dolly Sampley all of Dunkirk; Mrs. Bertha Buckner, Monterey; sisters Mrs. Myrtle Vaughn, Dunkirk; Mrs. Erb Murphy, Monterey; four brother, Andrew of Calfkiller, TN; Burton of Spring City; Dillard of Crossville; and Sherman of Monterey. Goff Funeral Home Monterey in charge.
