ARITON- Prentice Rhoads, 75, of Ariton died Thursday afternoon, August 6, in Lyster Army Hospital Hospital following a long illness.
Funeral Services were held Sunday morning, August 9, at 10:00 a.m. from the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church with the Revs. Larry Teasley and Bruce Cooper officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Olive Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Rhoads was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served 22 years in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ludie Rhoads of Ariton; three daughters, Mrs. Sharon Strickland, Falkville, Al., Mrs. Joyce Szydlowski, Hazel Park, Michigan and Mrs. Linda Smith, Warren, Michigan; two sisters, Miss Edna Rhoads, Huntsville, Al, and Mrs. Lucille Walding, Hartselle, Michigan; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
