William Harry Faber
Jan. 15, 1921 - January 13, 2008

William "Bill" H. Faber, age 86 of Little Falls, MN passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008 at his home in Little Falls. Committal service will be held Friday, January 18, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN. Military Rites will be conducted by Randall V.F.W. Post #9052.

William "Bill" H. Faber was born January 15, 1921 in Anoka, Anoka County, MN to the late Myron A. & Jean (Currie) Faber. As a young boy, Bill grew up in Anoka. He attended and graduated from Anoka High School with the Class of 1937. He worked in a gas station for three years. In 1940, he joined the Army National Guard and then entered the United States Navy and served in the South Pacific during WWII. Upon returning from WWII, Bill moved back to Minnesota working for the National Guard in the 125th Field Artillery as Battalion Sergeant Major. Following one and a half years with the 125th Field Artillery, Bill took a discharge and enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant First Class. He later transferred to the United State Army as a Sergeant First Class. He received a commission one year later as Second Lieutenant. In 1962, Bill retired from the United States Army as Major. He returned to Anoka, MN and worked for the Telelect Company as a quality control director. Bill was united in marriage to Frances Joseph on October 22, 1943. In 1971, the couple purchased a cabin on Lake Alexander. Bill retired from Telelect Company and in 1980 the couple moved to Lake Alexander. Frances died in 1987. Bill later moved to Little Falls residing there until his death.

He was a member of the Randall V.F.W. Post #9052 and the Little Falls American Legion Post #46.

Bill is survived by daughter & sons, Mary Jean Bertek & husband, Don, of Phoenix, AZ, Michael J. Faber of Oregon and Dr. William "Bill" Faber of Cushing, MN; four grandchildren; brother John Faber of Florida and companion, Dolly Headley of Little Falls, MN.
