Polly Morrison born Claire Pauline Dooms but best known as Grandma,Polly was born Aug 1, 1918, in Augusta, Kansas to Lillie Mae Dooms, and raised with Fred James, died peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 21, 2009, in Tahlequah.
Polly was married to James Bruce Morrison on May 29, 1936, and they lived in the U.S. and around the World (Sidney) Australia, New York City, Tulsa, Bella Vista, Ark. and Tahlequah. This allowed them to travel, which was a favorite thing for Grandma and Grandpa to do and they traveled to places all over the world.
Grandma Polly was quite a spitfire who was known for her love of golf, bowling and dancing and southern cooking, but she was best known for her love and devotion to her family who all loved to spend time with her.
Polly will be dearly missed by her two children, James Byron Morrison and Patty Morrison (Lewis), her seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Polly will be laid to rest in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Tulsa, resting between James Morrison and Lillie Mae Dooms. The world lost a very bright light. We wish her the best of travels.
