Antioch Tribute Paid Mrs. Carter

Mrs. Mattie Ola Carter, 79, died Monday in an Andalusia hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Antioch Congregational Church with the Rev. C.C. Bennett and the Rev. A.P. Nelson officiating. Music was by the church choir accompanied by Mrs. Emogene Stewart and Mrs. Eloise Dye. Solo was by Miss Lynn Nelson. Burial was in the church cemetery with Foreman's in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, James N. Carter, Andalusia; five sons, Miller N. and Jack Carter, both of Andalusia; Johnny M. Carter, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; W. Shelton , Lakeland, Fla.; and Comer Carter, Mobile; three daughters, Mrs. C.J. Straughn, Lakeland, Fla.; Mrs. Edith Adams, Andalusia; and Mrs. Carlton Wise, Akron, Ohio; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, E.H. Henby, Andalusia; two sisters, Mrs. D. Hodge, Andalusia and Mrs. Mattie Worley, Headland.
Pallbearers were Curtis Lee, Fred Helms, Arnold Straughn, Manley Cauthon, J.T. Byrd, and Benton Randall.
