EAST LIVERPOOL Richard A. Bosworth, Sr., 75, of Haywood Street, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a brief illness.

Born Nov. 6, 1933 in Chester, WV, he was a son of the late Hollie and Alice Elizabeth Bosworth.

A 1951 graduate of the East Liverpool High School, he served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army. Through his employment, he had traveled extensively, and then returned to this area in 1983. He retired as manager of Craven's Advantage Auto Parts store.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #374, where he served as Adjutant Officer.

Surviving him at home is his wife, Florence Bosworth, whom he married on July 3, 1955.

Also surviving are four daughters and one son: Elizabeth Ann Crowell and her husband, John David, of Glenburnie, MD, Lisa Marie Layson and her husband, Russell, of Sanford, NC, Julie Ann Bosworth of Canfield, Jody Marie Bosworth of East Liverpool, and Richard A. Bosworth, Jr. and his wife, Theresa Ann, of Crofton, MD.

There are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as three sisters, Alice Mae Vollnogle and her husband, Kenneth of Lisbon, Dollie Marinucci and her husband, James, of Kimbolton, OH, and Linda Rogers of Brecksville, OH. There are also two brothers, Howard Bosworth and his wife, Ruth Ann, and Arthur Bosworth and his wife, Judy, both of East Liverpool.

Preceding Bosworth in death was one sister and three brothers.

Friends may call at the Dawson Funeral Home anytime on Monday, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Riverview Cemetery with the Rev. Norm Eckert officiating.

The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord full military honors.
