William (Bill) D. Kirkpatrick of Atlantic Beach, FL, 75, died at his home Friday, January 23, 2009, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Graham, North Carolina and lived in several places, until he made his residence in Atlantic Beach in 1963. He was a retired veteran of the United States Navy after 22 years of service and retired from the Federal Reserve Bank after 20 years of employment. He was survived his wife of 55 years, Evelyn (Jean) Kirkpatrick, two daughters, Jeannette Kirkpatrick and Shannon Rieman (Martin) and one son, Mark Kirkpatrick (Marilyn), four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Ann Koury (Maurice) and one brother, Walter (Jane) Kirkpatrick, and two nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, and one nephew. He was a member of the American Legion. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
