Timoteo was the 22 year old son of Valentin Melendez (Mexico) and Barbara Sillas Garcia (Fort Davis, Texas) of 3726 Rivera in El Paso, El Paso Co., Texas. He was married on April 10, 1944 in Los Angeles Co., California to Josefina Montoya, daughter of Miguel Montoya and Caterina Saenz.
Timoteo was actively serving with the U.S. Army's 506th Para-Infantry - 101 Airborne Division in Belguim, where He was killed during World War II. He was formerly buried in Liege, Beligium then on Dec. 5, 1950, He was reinterred at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas.
