Franklin Wayne McCrary Sr., age 66, passed away on January 23, 2009. Born on August 1, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida, to James F. McCrary and the late Melvarine McCrary. Franklin served in the U.S. Air Force and completed 35 years total Federal service as a Metrologist for the Department of Defense at NAS Jacksonville. Franklin leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Carol McCrary, three children, Julie McCrary Post and husband Alan, Franklin Wayne McCrary Jr. and wife Jennifer Moser McCrary, and Warren McCrary and wife Melanie Chadwick McCrary, 7 grandchildren, James, Brandon, Alyssa, Zachary, Alexis, Mason, and Liberty, and 1 great grandson, Parker. Family will receive friends between 10-11am Wednesday, January 28, 2009. A home going celebration will follow at 11am. Due to space and time restrictions at the Jacksonville National Cemetery the graveside service will be held for family only. He was a man of two passions, his faith and his family.
