Homer H. Hodge
ROANOKE — Homer Henry
Hodge, 89, died Wednesday, July
24, 1996. He was born in the
Vicker section of Montgomery
County and lived there until
1978. He moved to Salem and
later to Roanoke. He retired
from Hercules Radford Army
Ammunition Plant in 1968. He
was a member of Belview United
Methodist Church and was pre
ceded in death by his parents,
R.J. and Cora Stanger Hodge;
sister, Mamie Swain; and
brothers, Ellis and Finch Hodge.
He is survived by his beloved
wife, Juanita Branscom Hodge;,;
three children, Georgene H.
Hash, Dublin; Darla H. Gray
and son-in-law, David T. Gray, of
Strongville, Ohio; Joseph W.
Hodge and daughter-in-law,
Mary Hodge, Roanoke; seven
grandchildren, Cheryl H. Tilley
and Noel D. Hash Jr., both of
Dublin; Les D. Gray, Pompano
Beach, Fla.; Gary J. Gray,
Strongville, Ohio; Andrew T.
Gray, Canton, Ohio; Misty H.
Bishop and Joseph W. Hodge II,
both of Roanoke; four great
grandchildren, Michael and
Matthew Tilley, Dublin; Emily
Bishop, Roanoke; Jackson Gray,
Canton, Ohio; niece and nephew,
Hilda H. Helms and Robert F.
Hodge, Blacksburg.
Funeral was held Friday from
Richardson-Home Funeral
Home Chapel in Christiansburg,
conducted by the Rev. Mitchell
Emswiler, with interment in
Sunset Cemetery.
