Will Tiner, 79, of Rt. 3, Blakely, died Wednesday, May 1, 1985 at his residence after a short illness. A native of Early County, he was born March 23, 1906, the son of Charlie Tiner and Callie Houston Tiner. He was a retired farmer and Soil Conservation Service employee. A life long resident of the Hentown community, he was an active member of the New Hope Baptist Church.He taught youth and adult Sunday School classes and was a past Sunday School Superintendent. Funeral services were held at New Hope Baptist Church on Thursday, May 2, with Rev. Terry Rainwater officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Gardens with Austin Holley, Allen Tiner, Jimmy Holley, Paul Allen, Buddy Burton and David Gene Beach serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were George Lawson, Joe Bush, Emmett Mock, Lester Blackburn, Byron Blackburn, Buddy Jones Tyner Cooper, Glenn Waller, Maynard Mock, Griffin Houston, Chester Middleton, Rodney Middleton, Doster Davis, G.S. Blackshear, Don Waller, Marcine Cooper, Hilary Thomas, Luther Waller, James Tedder, Randall Sheffield, Earl Middleton and Pete White. Survivors include his wife, Laura Lee Daniels Tiner, Blakely; one son, Robert E. Tiner, Blakely, two daughters, Mrs Faye Waller, Columbus, Mrs. Kathy Tracy, Columbus; and seven grandchildren. Manry-Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
