Catherine Emmaline was born near Springfield, OH the daughter of Alexander and Matilda (Hoover) Adair. In 1842, the family moved near Union City, IN, and afterward resided in Abington Twp. Catherine was married to James Rariden Meek, Dec 31, 1848. Catherine and James children were: John W, Joseph, Marquis, Alexander, James R, David C E, and Charles Alfred. Catherine was the oldest of 8 children.
