Those that associated with him in his christian life found him to be a pleasure and obedient to his Lord's commands. When he met his friends he greeted them with a smile, and gentle words.

It was such a pleasure to his dear companion and children to dwell with him upon earth but when the hour come for the Lord to call him, Oh, how sad it was for him to leave their presence! That God who is rich in mercy, and who has all power, both in heaven and on earth, saw it fit through His mighty wisdom to call him from all the ways of earth. Pap had run his race, he had fought a good fight and at last, but not least, had to give up the battle.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. McDonald and Ollie Moore. Pap's remain was laid to rest in the Rocky Ridge cemetery.
