Chapman "Bruce" Armentrout was born 06 AUG 1882, Alleghany County, Virginia, the son of Michael J. Armentrout and Sarah Jane Gunter. Bruce had six siblings: Mary E. "Mollie" Armentrout, James Michael Armentrout, George Armentrout, John "Dallas" Armentrout, Sarah "Jane" Armentrout and Emity Robinson "Emma" Armentrout. He also had two half-siblings: Jacob Lafayette Armentrout and Anetta Catherine "Nettie/Nett" Armentrout Matheney.

Bruce married Lu Tishia Fridley 13 JUN 1906, Alleghany County, Virginia. They had at least six children: William "Dallas" Armentrout, Vadis Richard Armentrout, Ilda May Armentrout, Nellie P. Armentrout, Roxie Evelyn Armentrout and George Harding Armentrout. Bruce was a farmer and resided in Alleghany County, Virginia.
