Josiah Hanby
Thu 11 June 1896 - Josiah Hanby died at his home two miles northwest of Summerset June 8, 1896. Mr Hanby was born Dec 27th 1815 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. He came to Iowa and Warren County in 1853 and settled on the farm on which he died in 1896. He leaves his wife now 80 years of age and four children to mourn for him who has been their stay so many years. Mr. Hanby was a good citizen, has served his generation faithfully and is now at rest.
Summerset County News - Grandpa Hanby died Monday afternoon at 1:30. The last few days of his life were days of suffering. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the North River Church, conducted by Rev. Jamison of Scotch Ridge.
