MRS. SUSAN BIDDLE, the subject of this sketch, was born north of Roaring Spring on the old Snowberger farm, April 25, 1814, and died February 5, 1903, at her home near this place at the ripe age of 88 years, 9 months and 10 days.
Her maiden name was Susan Snowberger, and was married to Andrew Biddle who preceded her to the Heavenly world over 28 years ago.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter. J. S. Biddle, of this place; A. B. Biddle, of Johnson City, Tenn.; and Mrs. Drusannah Way, of Telford, Tenn.
She was converted and connected herself with the Methodist Episcopal church about fifty-two years ago and has been a faithful member all these years. It was her great delight to be always present at every service of the church until she became too feeble.
Her neighbors always found her to be one of the first to offer her service during sickness, letting her own household duties to render a kind act to all in the community.
Her home was ever open to the itinerant, who always found a home and welcome to her hospitality.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the M. E. Church by her pastor, Rev. A. P. Wharton, of Martinsburg, assisted by Rev. E. E. Noble of Waterside.
