VALPARAISO -- Edith A. Podreskey, of Valparaiso, died Tuesday, May 10, 1994, at Porter Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 20, 1903, at Deep River, the daughter of John and Anna (Marquart) Small.
A lifelong resident of Valparaiso, she was a member of First United Methodist Church, Valparaiso Womens Club, charter member of Duneland Rose Society and Past Matron of Chapter 164 O.E.S.
In 1922, in Valparaiso, she married John L. Podreskey, who preceded her in death in 1968.
Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie O'Brien of Valparaiso; a granddaughter, Rebecca (Herbert) Dettmer of Lakewood, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Catherine and Andrew Dettmer; a nephew, Bryce (Edna Ruth) Billings of Valparaiso and a niece, June Schapiro of Charleston, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Gretchen Billings, Ina Terven and Mary Hartell.
Memorial services 2:30 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Valparaiso; the Rev. Toni Carmer officiating; burial at Graceland cemetery; memorials to First United Methodist Church; Bartholomew Funeral Home, Valparaiso, handled arrangements.
