He retired from Texaco in Port Arthur following thirty two years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, a member of VFW Post 2775 and St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Henry Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (DeValcourt) Burleigh; three brothers, one sister; wives, Hilda Daw Burleigh, Karen Thrailkille Burleigh; step-granddaughter, Trisha Phelps and his step-son-in-law, Richard Parrish.
He was survived by his children, Sheryl Nelson and her husband, Pat, Harold Burleigh and his wife, Jennifer, Charles L. "Buddy" Burleigh and his wife, Darlene; step-daughters, Kathy Robicheaux and her husband, Andy, Dyanne Parrish and June Hein.
He was also survived by his sisters-in-law, Opal Burleigh, Mildred "Black" Burleigh; twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; 3 step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; one step-great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
