John Henry Smith Dies Thursday at Farmersville

John Henry Smith retired farmer of Farmersville, passed away at his home in Farmersville at 2:55 am Thursday following an illness of several months.
Born September 15, 1886, the son of Mr & Mrs James B Smith, [James Ballard Smith] he had resided in Mississippi until moving to Collin County 55 years ago. (His mother was Mary Francis Bishop. Mary Francis Bishop and James Ballard Smith were married abt 1865 in Monroe County, Mississippi, USA. We believe that she died abt 1873, because John's 1/2 brother, James Robert, was born in 1874. No grave has been found.)
Survivors include his wife [Valerie Eloise (Sis) Love Smith] and three daughters, Miss Omega Smith of Fort Worth, Miss Clara Smith of Fort Worth, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Sims, Mrs. Ellen Cook and Mrs Nora Mower, all of Mississippi; and four brothers, W. J. and J. R. Smith of Texas and Eddie and Ernest Smith of Mississippi.
Funeral services are to be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the First Methodist Church at Farmersville with internment following in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery there. Rev. Gerald P McCollom and Rev. Clark Russell of this city will officiate. Crouch - Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
