Edith Parsons, 90, of Spur, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009. Services will be 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Spur with Eric Swenson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Campbell Funeral Home. Interment will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery.

Edith was born Jan. 27, 1918, in Comanche County, Texas to Henry and Maude Nelson Fisher. She was a graduate of Crosbyton High School and attended Texas Tech University. She married Lem Parsons Sept. 1, 1939, in Afton. He preceded her in death in 1991. She drove the mini-bus for the Spur Senior Citizens for several years, and enjoyed sewing, cooking and tending her vegetable garden. She was also a member of First Baptist Church. Edith had a way of making everyone feel like they were her favorite person.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Parsons and wife Judy, of Ava, Mo., Curt Parsons and wife Kare, of Hamlin, and Sheldon Parsons and wife Debbie, of Spur; one daughter, Jan Brown and husband Charlie, of Idalou; two step-daughters, Edith Pierce, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Vivian Roberson, of Vernon; one daughter-in-law, Dee Raber, of Hollywood, Fla.; one sister, Norma Wahl of Georgetown, Texas; twelve grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, one step-son and three brothers.
