He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marian Savell Howell; three sons, Gordon Stanley (Nancy Parker) Howell, Jr. of Okemos, Mich., Charles Brenson (Diane Harrell) Howell of Semmes, Ala. and Patrick Vaughn (Elaine McWhorter) Howell of Mobile, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Joshua Michael Howell of Marion, Ind., Adam Parker Howell of Lansing, Mich., Shannon Savell Howell of Chicago, IL, James Christopher Howell of Foley, Ala., Meredith Brenson Howell and Charles Eavenson (Carolyn Tait0 Howell, both of Semmes, Ala. and Patrick Vaughn (Druhan Lowry) Howell, Jr. of Mobile, Ala.; a great grandchild, Logan Ashby Howell; and a daughter in love, Marsha Donald.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Semmes First Baptist church.
