Charleston Battalion, under Gaillard’s command, known as Sumter Guards in Company E. He was killed at Battery Wagner during the Civil War. He was 17 years old.

Samuel T. Hyde, son of Simeon & Ann Eliza Hyde, born October 31st, 1845, died July 18th, 1863. Blessed are the pure in heart.
