This from Annie's Granddaughter Dolores:
Annie was from Cumberland, Maryland, and may have lived on Washington Street. She said she was English, Swedish and French "a little bit of everything." She was really tiny, not even 5 foot tall, and thin. She had five children with Harry Dixon. She was bossy and controlling with the kids, but she liked them a lot, and always had home-made bread and cookies.

She always had a cotton house dress on, buttoned to the neck, and black shoes. Her husband bought her clothes and shoes and she stayed at home and worked the garden, often growing asparagus. She never went anywhere. When she did get dressed to go out, she wore a hat and black coat.

They only had two bedrooms but the house was always neat and spotless. She always fed any visitors, and gave drinks to the men.
