A Baptist pastor, he was first at Stamford, and later at the Baptist Church ar Warwick, New York, where he was ordained November 17, 1766. Shortly after, he removed to the Wyoming region of the Susquehanna River, where he lived during the massacre by the Indians in 1779-80. After sustaining great financial loss from the Indians, he then moved back to Warwick where he died.
