David Ezra Brainerd, Jr., was born in Chicago, IL Aug. 11, 1923, the son of David Ezra and Kathryn (Cowan) Brainerd. He married there on June 15, 1946, Merwyn Kingsley Williams. She was b. Oct. 14, 1924, Piermont, NY, the daughter of Martin Teter Williams and Marion Kingsley Miller. David attended the University of Chicago, and was later drafted into the U.S. Army during WWII and served in the European Theater. Mr. Brainerd became the chief executive officer of Western Folder Distributing Company, located in Itasca, IL. In 1947. The business had been founded by his father. David retired as president of the company in 1998. Resident of Glen Ellyn from 1949 to 1984, Mr. and Mrs. Brainerd also had a residence on Skidaway Island in Savannah, GA and lived there until 1991 when they lived in Oak Brook, IL. The couple had four sons.
