He was born March 28, 1914, in Albemarle County, son of the late Austin and Ann Fisher Gibson.
Surviving are four daughters, Ms. Jean Fisher of Greenwood, Joyce Gochenour of Crimora, Mrs. Libby Critzer of Crozet, and Mrs. Lois Gutshall of Kents Store; one brother, Grant Gibson of Waynesboro; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Woodson of Greenwood; six half brothers, two half sisters; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
He was a retired employee of S. W. Barnes Lumber Co., Crozet and a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Greenwood.
Family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Rockgate Cemetery, the Rev. David Collyer will officiate.
