A feud between the families of General John R. Bayler and Mr. Gillhirst, prominent citizens of Uvalde, Texas, was settled in the usual manner. General Bayler and his son fought Gillhurst and his two sons.
Gillhirst was killed, one of his sons mortally wounded, and the other seriously wounded. Young Bayler was slightly hurt.
The General was at one time Governor of New Mexico.
