Alice Marie Boston, 87, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Cedar Lake, passed away Thursday, Oct.16, 2008 at Health South Hospital, Houston, Texas.
She was born in Cedar Lake on Sept. 30, 1921, the daughter of the late Ralph and Minnie (Spaulding) Osborne.
Alice attended school at Cedar Lake Seventh-Day Adventist Academy and then continued her education at Andrews University (Emanuel Missionary College), receiving her degree in elementary education.
On May 30, 1948, Alice married Raymond W. Boston at Cedar Lake. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2003.
She was a member of Vassar Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Alice was a teacher for 24 years, the last 17 teaching at Henry Doerr Elementary School in Buena Vista Township. She enjoyed genealogy, sewing, working in her 5-acre garden and socializing with her friends.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Velma (Donald) Wood of Houston Texas; grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel and Charles; great-grandchildren, Andrea Smith; son-in-law, Paul Medlin and sister-in-law, Shirley Siems.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Raymond W. Boston; daughter, Mavis Medlin; granddaughter, Michelle Smith; and brothers, Forrest and Clifford.
Funeral sevices will be Wednesday at Brigham Funeral Chapel, Edmore, with Pastor David Gotshall officiating, Burial will take place in Cedar Lake Cemetery.
