MRS. AMERICA MILLER PASSES AWAY FRIDAY
Mrs. America Miller died at her home here Friday morning after a lingering illness of almost a year.
America Ellen Evans Miller was born in Fleming county, Kentucky, April 4, 1849. She was married to J. L. Miller December 9, 1869. A few years after her marriage they came to Illinois, where she has spent most of her life, living for about thirty-five years near Lovington and for the last seven years in this city. The husband passed away about eight years ago.
Mrs. Miller was the mother of seven children, six of whom survive. One daughter died when quite young. The surviving are: Samuel Miller of Streator; W. H. Miller of Clinton; Thomas Miller of Decatur; Mrs. Elizabeth Duvall of Lovington; John M.(sic) Miller and Edward W. Miller of Chicago. There are thirteen grandchildren surviving, all of whom were present at her death excepting Claude Duvall, who is in the army. One brother, Isaac Evans, and one sister, Mary D. Myers, survive.
Mrs. Miller had been a member of the Christian church since thirteen years of age. She was interested in the church and was a splendid member of the Aid Society.
After a lingering and painful illness she passed away at her home April 6, 1917.
