Dorothy Cecilia (Ochs) Selzer, 91, of Ste. Marie passed away at 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, in Burlington, Wis.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Ste. Marie, with the Rev. Al Kemme officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one-half-hour prior to service at the church. In loving memory of Dorothy, memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Ste. Marie. Funeral arrangements are through Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton.

Dorothy was born Feb. 6, 1917, in Ste. Marie, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Savoy) Ochs. She married James J. Selzer April 19, 1941, in Hubbard Woods and he preceded her in death March 11, 2000.

Dorothy and James lived in Winnetka and then retired back to her hometown of Ste. Marie in 1979.

Dorothy moved to Waterford, Wis., in 2008, to be closer to her family. She was a homemaker and avid quilter. She was a devoted mother, who dearly loved her five children. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie and a former member of Saints, Faith, Hope and Charity Church in Winnetka. Mrs. Ochs was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW and American Legion.

Surviving are her children, James A. (Gail) Selzer of Niles, Kathleen A. (John) Boord of Lompoc, Calif., Robert P. (Nancy) Selzer of Diamondhead, Miss., Rosemary C. (Tom) Frost of Madison, Wis., and Theresa L. (David) Woerpel of Burlington, Wis.; sister, Mildred Schmidt of Ste. Marie; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Bernard, Lawrence, Robert and Louis Ochs; and sister, Gladys Hoffman.
