Saturday, March 29, 2008, Loree Barstad left her loved ones here to join family and friends in heaven.
Born July 1928 in Erick, Okla. to Dortha and Cecil LeMond, Loree attended school in Texas and California and graduated in Amarillo, Texas. She was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ her entire life, attending Assembly of God churches in Texas, Oklahoma and most recently Templeton.
She married Virgil S. Barstad in 1955 in California. They resided in Simi Valley most of their married life, but moved to Paso Robles after retirement to be closer to family.
Loree worked for many years for Nahas Department stores in Van Nuys and Simi Valley. She was a talented person with many interests- floral arranging, cake decorating and crafts of all kinds. She was also a talented cook and baker.
She was generous, giving and a special friend of the American Indians, having donated generously to their schools.
Loree is survived by her husband Virgil S. Barstad; sister Patsy(Jack) King; brothers-in-law Norman, Russel and Ted; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. She will be missed by all.
Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral home, 1703 Spring St. in Paso Robles.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008, also at Kuehl-Nicloy, with a graveside service to follow at the Paso Robles District Cemetery. Reverend Homer Purdy will officiate.
