McMinnville resident and Cannon County native Carrie Elizabeth Macon, 61, died Dec. 11 at River Park Hospital after an extended illness.

A dietary department employee of NHC Healthcare, she was the daughter of John Henry and Ruth Mount Wade; and was preceded in death by brother, Cecil Lee Hayes; and sister, Ruby Pleasant.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Bacon Jr.; daughters, Teresa Kay Locke and Shannon Renee Porras of McMinnville and Deborah Batey of Nashville; son, Corey L. Woods of McMinnville; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nora Arnold, Marie Janice King and Helen Johnson, all of McMinnville, and Frankie Olivia Wooten of Tullahoma.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at High's Chapel with George King Jr. and W. Richard Barger officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday and will begin at 11 a.m. today at High's.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
