MRS. GUFFEY DEAD
At her home, 5200 Liberty avenue, Pittsburgh, this morning at 6 o'clock, Mrs. Barbaretta Hough Guffey, widow of the late John Guffey, formerly sheriff of Westmoreland county, died. Mrs. Guffey was a native of this county being a daughter of Paul Hough, of West Newton. For probably twenty years the family lived in Greensburg. During her residence here Mrs. Guffey was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was prominent in all departments of church work. Mrs. Guffey is survived by five children: Mrs. Carroll Miller, of Osaka, Japan; Miss Pauletta Guffey who is now on a visit to her sister in Osaka; Miss Ida Guffey, Joseph F. Guffey, general manager of the Philadelphia Company, Pittsburgh, and Alex Guffey. The obsequies will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Guffey home at 4 o'clock. Private interment will be made at West Newton on Sunday.
