In 1855, our subject disposed of his home farm in Ohio and removed with his family to this township, and located on a farm of 160 acres, which he has since increased to 370 acres, besides presenting to several of his children a comfortable home. Our subject was formerly a Whig, but on the formation of the Republican party he joined its standard, and has since followed it closely. He is a strong antisecret society man, and he and wife are members of the Presbyterian Church.
