Henderson Edward "Ed" Bates

BROUGHT HERE SICK. Mr. H. E. Bates of Barry Suffering from Kidney Trouble Drs. Fields and Boys and Messrs. W. O. Hopkins and Luke Varnell of Barry, brought Mr. H. E. Bates, a venerable citizen of the Barry community here today on a stretcher suffering from a severe attack of kidney trouble.

The ambulance of Hippel & Elkins met the sick man at the depot and he was taken to the office of County Health Officer Dr. W. D. Fountain and from there was taken to the Physicians’ and Surgeons’ Hospital for treatment.

He is the husband of Melissa Adelaide (Robinson) Bates; son of Elijah J. Bates and Matilda "Emily" (UNKNOWN) Bates.
