My mother was the youngest child of Bert and Ella Battenfield. She married Henry P. Paquet March 13, 1942 in Opelika, Lee, Alabama, USA. They had one daughter, me. I was born in July, and my father was killed in September. He never saw me. When I was three, my mother married a friend of my father's, Henry Henkel, and he adopted me. Hence, the Henkel name.
