Mike was born in Wichita Falls in Wichita Co, TX to Willard Dennis and Ollie Frances Bradberry Goff. His parents are buried in Rendon Cemetery in Tarrant Co, TX. Mike served in the U.S. Navy from June 1958 to December 1966. He was awarded a Vietnamese Expeditionary Medal for his service in the Vietnam War. He married Anna Louise Fisher 27 August 1959 in Palestine, Anderson Co, TX. After leaving the Navy, he resided in Palestine where he was employed by the National Center of Atmospheric Research. He was a gunsmith and opened his first gun shop in Palestine in 1971. He also worked for many years as a construction electrician. He was residing in rural Anderson County at the time of his sudden death at a local hospital. He was survived by his wife, Louise; his mother, Frances Goff of Fort Worth; two sons, Michael Wayne Goff of Palestine and Patrick Dennis Goff of Marquez; one stepson, Jason Arden of Athens; three daughters, Gwendolyn Frances "Gwen" Goff Hobbs of Cooper, TX, Carole Anne Goff Harris of Malakoff, and Sheri Lynn Goff Warren of Palestine; one brother, James David Goff of Fort Worth; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Tuesday, 3 February 2009.
