Cornucopia, Dies
Cornucopia - Herman C. Lawin, 56, postmaster of Cornucopia and a World War II veteran, died Saturday at Barron, Wisconsin.
He was born at Cornucopia Jan. 23, 1918. He married Elsie M. Bergan.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie; four brothers, Walter, Sheboygan; Fred, Cornucopia; Arnold, Cornucopia; and Herbert, Washburn; one sister, Mrs. William (Hildegard) Denno, Duluth.
Funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cornucopia, with Rev. James Gronewold officiating. Burial will be at the town of Bell Cemetery at Cornucopia.
Visitation will be at the Bratley Funeral Home, Washburn, from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Monday. The body will also lie in state at the church at Cornucopia from 12:30 noon Tuesday until time of service.
