Rosary for Jerry De Rose, 80, was recited at 8 p.m.unday in Walker's Globe Mortuary. Mass was sung at 9 a.m. Monday in Holy Angels Catholic Church Father Thomas Doyle officiated and burial was in Globe Cemetery.
Mr. DeRose was born Dec. 9, 1881, in Calumet, Mich., where he was a semi-professional baseball baseball player before coming to Globe in 1909.
He died Friday at his home in Globe.
Formerly a retired pumpman for the Old Dominion Mine, Mr. De Rose was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his son, Barry, and a daughter, Mrs. Wyles Premeau, both of Globe, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
