Greenview, IL - Billy Adams, 89, of Greenview died on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He was born on January 16, 1919 in Ermine, KY to Henry Clay and Celia Blair Adams.

He is survived by nine children, Lucille (Arthur) Parido of Hudson, IL, Jim (Susan) Adams of Greenview, Patty (Dick) Shawgo of Oakford, John (Jo) Adams of Greenview, George Adams of Greenview, Margaret (Larry) Guenther of Eagan, Minnesota, Annie Hammond of Rushville, and Billy Ring of Greenview; four sisters, Lady Adams of Mayking, KY, Henrietta Adams, Rachel Adams, and Bonnie Jean Holbrook, all of Whitesburg, KY; twenty three grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Rodney (Sandy) Adams of Joliet, and a grandson, Danny Baugher of Greenview.

Mr. Adams was self-employed as an electrician and doing construction work.

He was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II.

He was a life member of the Greenview AMVETS Post #179, and a member of Greenview Christian Church.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview, Illinois.
