Stelling - Hansen

Miss Alice M. Stelling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Stelling, of Deshler, and Mr. Hans C. Hansen, of near Ruskin, were united in marriage at the parsonage of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Tuesday evening at 7:30, by the Rev. W. Cholcher. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wolf were the witnesses. The many friends of the young couple extend congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy married life.

Hans Chauncey Hansen, son of Mette and I.C. Hansen, was born August 8, 1910 near Ruskin, and died at the Lynch Clinic in Fairbury, March 30, 1955, at the age of 44 years, 7 months and 22 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith but attended the Ruskin Community church (sic) during his childhood and youth. Following his marriage he attended Peace Lutheran church (sic) in Deshler.

He was a graduate of Ruskin high school, class of 1927, and attended the Uni. of Nebr. in 1928-29, after which he was associated with his father in farming for several years.

On August 27, 1935, he was married to Alice Stelling of Deshler. To this union were born three children: Mrs. Richard Baldwin (Donna Jean) of San Diego, Calif., and Judith Ann and Daniel Lee of the home. The family lived on farms in Thayer county (sic) until February 1954 when they moved to Deshler.

He had been in poor health for about 17 years and had been hospitalized several times in recent years.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister in 1897, his mother in 1929 and an older sister in 1935.

Immediate survivors are his wife and children, a granddaughter, his father and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Friday from Arendts Funeral Home (1:30 p.m.) and Peace Lutheran church (sic) (2:00 p.m.) in Deshler. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran cemetery (sic).
