Dorothy E. Green, 77, a former resident of Blackman Lake, died at 11:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12 at the Dallas Lamb Foundation Home in Payne, where she had been a resident since September 2005. She was born Jan. 14, 1929 in Paulding, a daughter of Eli F. and Rachel (Dix) Sontchi. She graduated from Paulding High School. From 1958 until 1969 she was employed at Weatherhead in Antwerp. On June 28, 1969 she was united in marriage to William E. Green, who preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 2002. They made their home in Wolcottville until 1994 when they moved to Blackman Lake. Surviving are three daughters, Sandy (Jim) Bowers of Antwerp, Pamela Stevens of Topeka and Paula (Mike) Martz of Wolcottville; a son, David Michael (Pat) Maberson of Fort Wayne; a stepson, Ronald (Julie) Green of Corunna; two stepdaughters, Diane (John) Anderson of Van Wert and Donna (Steve) Lippi of Cavette, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Homer Sontchi of Defiance. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, George Sontchi and Ed Sontchi; and two sisters, Florence Gelbuda and Marie Lehman. Service were held Monday, Jan. 15 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, Ind. with Pastor Mike Schneider officiating. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery, Whitley County, Indiana.
